A domestic large-capacity transformer has passed the sudden short circuit test

Introduction: The DFP-240000/400TH power transformer independently developed by Shandong Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has successfully passed in the Netherlands the sudden short circuit test of KEMA Company, an international authoritative quality certification agency. This is the first Chinese large-capacity transformer that has passed this test. The short circuit withstanding capacity test is a special test for transformers. It specifies the requirement that power transformers should be free from damage under the action of overcurrent caused by external short circuits. This test is comprehensive assessment of the structural design and manufacturing process of transformers. Currently, the domestic 400 kV transformer product featuring a large single column capacity has passed the sudden short circuit test of KEMA company and has filled the gap in the field of power transmission and transformation technology in China, which lays a foundation for further exploration of the international market by Shandong Power Equipment Co., Ltd.

KEMA Company was established in 1927. The KEMA electrical equipment test institution subordinate to KEMA Company possesses an old high-voltage laboratory and a large-current laboratory with a large installed capacity in the world. It is also a company that provides high-voltage testing and certification services and enjoys a high reputation throughout the world. World-renowned power transmission and distribution equipment manufacturers consider it a great honor to pass the test certification of KEMA Company. The pass rate of transformer products in the short circuit test in this Company was only 30% in 2011.
The transformer of Shandong Power Equipment Co., Ltd. passed the test this time. The impedance value change is less than 0.5%, showing excellent indicators and stable performance. It is the first Chinese single-phase 240MVA/400kV power transformer that has passed the short circuit test of (STL)KEMA. Its capacity approaches KEMA’s large testing capacity. Currently, it is a domestic 400 kV transformer product that features a single column capacity, has passed KEMA’s sudden short circuit test and has filled the gap in the field of power transmission and transformation technology in China, which lays a foundation for further exploration of the international market by Shandong Power Equipment Co., Ltd.
